Today I was inspired to complete a set of beaded chakras. I will be making these for sale. Using the colours and symbols of the chakras these pieces are helpful for relaxation and meditation. They will be available as a complete set or as individual pieces.
There are several helpful books to explain the use of chakras in more detail. One I particularly like is by Maya Fiennes and is called Yoga for Real Life.

It seemed a shame to put all the scraps in the bin, such lovely colours. I embellished them onto some curtain lining fabric and added a little Angelina Fibre and some wool tops. The 'wrong' side really appeals to me.

I've been enjoying going back to Pilates classes, but always find it hard to 'do' the relaxation at the end. My mind always seems to whir round. Remembering when I did yoga and how beneficial I found breathing through the chakras I incorporated this into pilates, and whenever I need to focus. My spirit people seemed the obvious choice to help with this and so I have made Spirit People in chakra colours. This one is the root chakra. There is lots of information on line about chakras I recommend having a look through and see what appeals or speaks to you. I have added some images of my sketchbook pages with some background information.
